    MJ the great.

Although its already been quite a few days since the death of Michael Jackson, the late king of pop, I feel the need to pay a tribute to him. I’ve been trying to find as many of his CDs/DVDs as I can around. Dad was wondering why I was trying so hard to find his CDs since I’m not really a die hard fan or anything. Well, MJ’s music is everywhere – you come across it heaps in movies and soundtracks, or sometimes randomly just break down in to MJ mood singing “beat it” or “don’t stop til you get enough”, or when some tragedy on the news occurs, first song that comes to mind is “heal the world”. Bee and I were actually trying to teach ourselves how to moonwalk just a few weeks back.

Its unfortunate how the fame put so much pressure on him that his life eventually became a circus. He seemed to have such high expectations of himself and wanted to remain the best of the best. Because of these expectations by him and the media, he pushed himself until he could push no more. Some one on twitter was point out the way the media spend their time digging all the dirt they possibly could on the star while he was alive, but glorify him when he passes away. Effing hypocrites.

At his best, and best look.

MJ’s voice is so versatile. In Jackson 5, his solos were amazing – ‘I’ll be there’ just gives me goosebumps.

He speaks so gently, but the words in his songs and his singing is so powerful – feel the effect of MJ in ‘They don’t care about us’.

Now he’s moonwalked to the pearly gates & keeps on rockin’ in heaven.
    Rest In Peace.

    its like a battle.

    It’s like there’s a angel-me to the left and a devil-me to the right.
Angel-me is telling me I should study my ass off and that I’ll have plenty of time in the holidays to play and shop.
Devil-me is saying I should really chillax cos its really not as hard as it seems; still have 8 more days until the first exam!

    Angel-me is losing right now.
    HARDEN UP!!!

Anyways, dunno what came over me last week, but I really want to pick up the guitar again and actually learn it. I started playing in high-school (some 8 years ago) but played less and less since other interests took over…(hmm yes, I do have a tendency of acquiring new interests really quickly). I’ve been playing the acoustic in my study breaks – just trying to play the oldies but goodies like Jewel, Michelle Branch, No Doubt and Beyond. I can’t decide whether to get a new acoustic or a new electric or a new amp? Though I have really fallen in love with this Epiphone Les Paul Custom:

I’ve noticed that I rarely come across anyone who actually plays an instrument these days. I know back in school nearly half of the class was in the school band. Is it too geeky to still play? What I’d really like to know is, if you played an instrument before, what did you play? Do you still play or not? If not, why did you stop?

    go gaga.

Revolutionizing the definition of ‘pop’ is the fabulous Lady Gaga.
Although I often don’t agree with some of her outfits, I do admire her ‘I like it so I don’t care what you think’ attitude. She’s bringing her own individual style to the table and definitely standing out, even if it means having her cheeks hanging out of her tight outfits 90% of the time. I’ve had Poker Face and Just Dance on repeat before. Now its Love Game and Beautiful Dirty Rich.
    Going Gaga yet babes?

UPDATE: Apparently Lady Gaga’s new video clip for “Love Game” has been banned from TV. Video Hits producer Ben Fletcher said that “It’s pretty rare we get a pop clip that’s sexual to the point there’s almost no way we can edit it without destroying the original intent of the video.” The Daily Telegraph reported yesterday.
There’s some “heavy touching”, “sexual postures”, “fetish-like costumes”, “disco stick”…
    See for yourselves, down below…
(ok, didn’t mean to be sexual there!)

    twittonary.

Anyone else swept away by the twitter wave right now?
I now send my tweets via 5 different portals. Just because.
Its taken over my allocated facebook time and my public transport napping time.
Has anyone taken notice of the random twit- words underneath your followers/updates counter?
Actually, there’s plenty more where that came from:

twittebrity – A celebrity who uses Twitter for publicity.
tweetup – A group of friends on Twitter that are planning to meet up.
twitterfag – A male who updates his status constantly with real-time updates of mundane daily events, much like a 12-year old girl.
twittiot - Someone who is clueless about twitter (how to use it, what DM, RT or other Twitter-only acronyms are)
twittociate – A twitter follower whom you do not know, so calling them a friend would make you look lame.
    Oh and my fave…
twitterrhea – too many twitters per hour.

I reeels gotta get myself a leather jacket soon. Or two.

Leave ya with a tune – Ciara’s Never Ever.

baby, throw your hands up in the air, if you know he love ya.
tell the dj play this song right here, if you know he love ya.
let me see you two-step, if you know he love ya.
it don’t matter if you’re by yourself, if you know he love ya.

    j’s iPod update.

Just a quick post before getting some work done.
Really been into the alternative rock scene lately, and maybe its partly cos of the mood I’ve been in lately as well.

I’ve had Copeland putting me to sleep lately. Their airy smooth voices are quite calming.

Since ‘She will be loved’ and ‘Sunday Morning’, I haven’t really listened to Maroon 5; until now. Keep it flo’in~~

And quite possibly my favourite HK rock group, Dear Jane, has released this single from their new album which will be available in April. Can’t wait!!!

P.S Watching that vid really makes me wanna get the Lomo Colour Splash & LC-A+!!!!

    fix you.

I have fallen for Coldplay all over again. Taking a break from asian pop for the moment until something better comes along. Coldplay, One Republic, Mika, The Veronics, Mariah Carey and Leona Lewis are all on repeat my ipod.

I just youtubed ‘fix you’ and found a video someone made dedicated to The O.C. OH! How I’ve missed that show and missing the charming Seth and Summer!  I’m thinking of starting a proper DVD collection soon.  The whole series of The O.C. will definitely be there.

On the right side controls, I have added box.net widget so you can download some of my favourites.   I’ll be adding more soon.

Feeling quite ill at the mo.  I have a feeling its the constant drinking coffee on an empty stomach that is making me feel abit funny…….oooooowwwww…

I love Coldplay too :) And I love DVD collections (not that I would ever make one myself), they’re so good to look at on your shelf! Thanks for your comment :)
