I remember back to primary school camping days where we had to make damper bread as one of the activities. So I felt like making some chocolate chip scones! Its the first time making it, so they might not be too presentable. Next time it should be better hehe.

I’m not really a bird person, but this little fella was sitting so peacefully and did not threaten my safety (birds are spontaneous ok!) while I walked passed. Pretty cute I admit.

A second Max Brenner Chocolate Cafe has opened at Robina Town Centre at the Gold Coast. I’ve yet to go to the one at Marina Mirage, but apparently Robina’s is bigger. Actually, I think ‘Max Brenner’ (i.e. Oded Brenner) himself was there to check out his new cafe; although I know not every bald guy with an earring is him, but he was having abit of a chat with the staff and even took a group photo & I don’t think any bald guy would be taking photos with staff. [Confirmed - google searched him; Max Brenner is actually founded by Max Fichtman and Oded Brenner, but Max Fictman is no longer associated with the Max Brenner cafe chain.]

Love everything about it: the exterior, wooden interior, the logo & of course the food and drinks.

Hit pause on the black and white books and out for a bit of wondering around with bee. Watched Fast & Furious and its actually better than what I expected. Better story than the previous ones, except I would’ve like to watch the first Fast & Furious again just to refresh my memory.

Korean hot pot. Reminder: Order ONLY the hotpot for 2 next time. Poor bee had to stuff himself cos we ordered too much.

Love to read the sweet / stalker columns where ppl text in and say something like: “To the brunette from Central Station at 7:10am wearing the black top with company logo. You’re beautiful. Coffee?” Haha quite entertaining. I wonder if people actually find each other through it.

It’s always good to take a break from study every so often to refresh your brain a little. Yeah, so I took an extra long one, that’s all. Back to it.

Its about 12 degrees tonight so super good time for ICE CREAM! Baskin Robbins again and as promised, picture of tea & scones. Ughhh but I feel quite sick now from eating it. Half way through it, I ended up just trying to find the scone pieces and scrapping all the cream. Sugar overload

The day seems to go more productively when I get my hit of caffeine in the morning. Because I always get takeaway, not only do I miss out on the froth, but also the enjoyment of coffee art.

There are only but a few in little Brisbane that gets my continuous business.
Tonight was Jong Ga in the Valley to celebrate Amy’s birthday.

happy year 2009

Welcome 2009!
Overall, I was pretty happy with 2008. Saw new things, made new friends and got to know some old friends better. Of course, I would’ve liked to done some things differently. But, no point living a life of regret when nothing can be done about the past. I’m looking forward to 2009 so I can change my old ways and make every year more meaningful and fulfilling than the previous. 

Mum’s friend brought over dessert: Cup-A-Cakes.  Although I only had a nibble of  b’s cookies & cream cupcake, they do taste as good as they look.

Nearly every day of this short break as been very full on.
I can feel the tiredness sinking into me. I really need a good rest after this.
